Spa service

After an exhausting week, I decided to treat myself to an "eyebrow sculpting" at a local spa. Proud of myself for figuring out how to make an appointment and navigating through the near 100 degree heat to the tiny spa, I attempted to dry my sweaty face before entering. I was surprised when the sweet woman who greeted me, first fed me hot tea and then tucked me under a puffy pink blanket for my service :) She said her English wasn't good, but it was much better than my Mandarin! She asked me if I'd had an eyebrow wax before. I said it had been a long time. She asked me if it had been years :) Most of her work involves doing make-up tattoos for eyebrows and eyeliner and lips - she said it takes her 4 hours per service and lasts a few years - she showed me pictures - her work was so detailed. At the end she asked to take a picture together to show her husband (who works internationally) evidence of her own international work for the day! So much patience and laughter.
